A patient is reported who developed acute optic nerve neuritis in the context of severe immunodeficiency associated with HIV-1 infection.The clinical,laboratory,and radiological features are described and the possible associations with syphilis,multiple sclerosis,lymphoma,and HIV-1 infection are discussed. |
